====== ABC / auto ABC ====== ===== Icon ===== {{:icon:abc_icon.png?50|}} ===== How it works ===== **Some tool functions are only available in expert mode** This option allows you to create a map from saved ABC points. The ABC method is an extension of the AB method, with intermediate points to increase guidance accuracy when traversing the row. The option is only available **when at least one map is loaded in the application**. ===== Application ===== When the option is activated, a dialog box opens, allowing you to [[cluster|group points]]. Once the points have been grouped, a step allows you to select whether to use ABC automatically or manually. ==== ABC automatic ==== The option is performed in several steps: - Set distances * Inter-row distance * By indicating the known distance * By measuring it using the MEASURE button * **Caution**, it is necessary to select an inter-row distance that is consistent with reality. * Margin * Represents the potential inter-row error between two consecutive rows (+/- margin). * **Caution**, it is necessary to select a margin that is neither too large (to avoid using points from 2 different rows to form a single row), nor too short (to avoid having points not taken into account in the row). - Select the points you wish to use to create the ABC map - Select the points making up the 1st row - Create a straight line giving the direction of the row {{ :en:abc_auto_measure1.png?400 |}} Once these steps have been completed, the 1st row is created using the points in the order given by the line. Then, all the points located at an inter-row distance +/- the indicated margin are used to create the 2nd row, and so on. {{ :en:abc_auto_line.png?400 |}} ==== ABC manual ==== The option is performed in several stages: - Select the points making up the 1st row - Creation of a straight line giving the direction of the row {{ :en:abc_manual.png?400 |}} The **A** keyboard shortcut also starts the tool.
