===== How it works =====

This option lets you measure distances along one or more consecutive segments.

===== Application =====

The option works in several stages:
  * On the 1st click of the measurement, a point is added, and a window appears showing the distance between this point and the mouse.
  * With each click on the map, a new point is added to the measurement, and the window displays the sum of the distances between each point.
  * The measurement line/polyline is validated when double-clicked, and the bubble measures the total distance of this line/polyline.

You can draw as many lines as you like.
These lines are persistent until the [[remove_measures|delete measurements]] option is triggered.

Distances are indicated in meters, feet and inches.

The keyboard shortcut **Ctrl + m** also starts the tool.
