===== How it works =====

This option allows you to create a new map by placing only the previously selected points within it. The other points remain in the original map.

The option is only available **when at least one map is loaded into the application and at least one point has been selected**.

===== Application =====

In order to use this option, you must first select points using the selection tools (selection [[rectangular_selection|rectangular]] or [[polygonal_selection|polygonal]]) and activate this option once the filter of selected points is visible.
A dialog box appears when this option is activated, allowing you to choose a name for the new map.

Click on **SPLIT** to create the new map, which appears in the map menu.

**Warning**, to create a new map from a selection, you must select all the rows you wish to move to a new map. If only a few points of these rows are selected, the rows are split.
